A continuation of MU360. In addition to other compositional projects, composition majors will complete a major large-scale work—either for large chamber ensemble, orchestra, a song cycle, or opera (minimal staging). Creative work in any genre and including oral/aural traditions of all cultures is embraced. In lessons students will also study and discuss exemplary scores of other composers in depth with the instructors. Weekly Composition Seminar, and participation in/attendance of Student Composers’ Concerts are expected. Prerequisites: MU360*; registration in the composition music program.
